The Vision: To restore the disused station cabin and provide a community facility on Platform One

Delivery:

 

The refurbishment of the disused station cabin on Platform One and the conversion to a Transport & Arts Gallery/Hub is the culmination of a two-year programme of station-based improvements by the community.

Building on the community-led development of the station, the station cabin project is managed by the rail & bus volunteer organisation in partnership with local groups, businesses, and councils.

​

The Hub is open for public access and will be host to a continuing series of exhibitions with themes including sustainable transport, the value of the railway to the community, Ledbury heritage and local history and the hub will also act as an information point with stocks of local publications and artworks.

​

Working together with the local Ledbury in Bloom gardening teams, who have long been stalwart supporters of the station, the pioneers of this community project will also be able to offer shelter to the gardeners as well as exhibitions celebrating the local work of volunteers.

​

The Hub will bring life and increased safety to the station as well as visitor interest to the town and its environs and the welcome conversion enhances the station, attracts increasing numbers of visitors to Ledbury by train and provides a much-needed community facility.
