Olton Community Celebratory Planters

The station adoption group 'Friends of Olton Station' have been volunteering at Olton station for many years.

An amicable and talented group of volunteers who work year-round, maintaining and tending the station's planters and hanging baskets and adding a touch of festivity during the seasonal holidays.

Through this funded programme, the Friends of Olton Station have installed custom designed planters to the platforms at Olton Station.

These installations celebrate the heritage of the station and the prize-winning bloom and gardening efforts that have long- been a credit to the town and station.

The new planters also mark twenty years of station adoption and volunteer activity by the current adoption group. These local volunteers invest much time and energy ensuring that the station provides a year-round floral welcome to passengers.   And its not only visitors to the station, but people on board the trains passing through who can appreciate the floral vistas at this lovely station.

The new planters have been custom made by Earlswood Garden & Landscape Centre who are local supporters of community activity and the Friends are emblazoning the planters with floral designs and script to celebrate the past twenty years of volunteer horticultural endeavours for the railways.
