The Vision: To encourage rail confidence for school pupils in the locality of The Chase Line

Delivery: 

RicNic is a well-established community enterprise working to support young people to fulfil their potential through a range of free arts projects.  

 

The CCIF 2023-24 project focussed on rail travel and included groups of young people travelling along the Chase Line observing the environment & how nature made them feel as they traversed the line & took time to look out the windows, noticing their surroundings and creating artwork based on wildlife vistas they saw outside of the train windows.

 

The young travellers also interviewed residents local to the railway line about their own memories and recorded living histories as part of the project.

 

West Midland Trains supported trips for three classes of primary age pupils and the children developed confidence in rail travel, connected with other train passengers and benefited from an insight into the rail industry.
