Friends of Albrighton Station

The Friends of Albrighton Station created a community venture called ‘Rail and Ramble’.  The programme of walks and rail journeys along the Shrewsbury – Wolverhampton line encouraged local communities to join together and partake rural walks within striking distance of the stations.

Culminating with tea and biscuits, the programme set a template for others to follow as people seek open-air activities for exercise and socialising. 

 

The Parish Council minibus offers people connections to the train service and dates of walks have all been promoted on a dedicated website created by the project founders. albrightonrailramblers.co.uk
